Compare the MPSIAC and EPM Models for Estimating Erosion and Sediment in poorahmadi catchment
author
Abstract:
to estimating erosion and sediment in the Poorahmadi watershed basin, MPSIAC and EPM models was used and compared. Part of Required data about natural characteristics of studing watershed basin provided from comprehensive studies of Watershed Basin and the other part prepared through digital image processing and preparing required maps using RS and GIS joint capabilities. With calculating the required factors, amount of erosion calculated in MPSIAC and EPM models. in the MPSIAC model, special erosion and special sediment respectively calculated1903/72 (M³/KM²/y) and 616/03(M³/KM²/y). However, the rate of special erosion and special sediment in the EPM model was estimated respectively 1093/5 (M³/KM²/y) and 1015/8 (M³/KM²/y). Results showed that in some sub basins MPSIAC and EPM models have good coincidence, but in areas with high erosion EPM Model has less certainty than MPSIAC model.

Performance evaluation of EPM and MPSIAC Models for determination of Erosion Status of Shahriari Watershed
Soil erosion is one of the most important environmental issues in developing countries, including Iran that there is inaccurate information about its amount and distribution. For this purpose, the accuracy and distribution of erosion classes obtained from EPM and MPSIAC models as compared to BLM as ground truth values were evaluated in Shahriari watershed. First, the required data and informati...

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

abstract this research was conducted in the pegah - sorkh sub-catchments area, a semi-arid region in sw iran, using geographic information systems (gis) and remote sensing (rs) to compare the erosion potential method (epm) and modified pacific southwest interagency committee (mpsiac) models in erosion-potential mapping and sediment yield assessment. the study area with approximately 4600 ha sho...
full textEstimation of annual erosion and sedimentation in Babolroud catchment using EPM and Fournier methods
One of the problems of controlling erosion and sedimentation in catchment areas is the lack of statistical data to accurately estimate the amount of sedimentation and erosion. In order to implement soil protection programs and determine methods to reduce sedimentation, it is necessary to estimate the total volume of annual sediment production. The purpose of this study is to estimate the erosio...

full textSoil erosion and sediment mapping in Aidoghmoush watershed appling MPSIAC model and GIS and RS technologies
Soil erosion is one of the important and worldwide environmental and economic issues. High amount of sediments accumulations behind the different structures such as dams requires several attempts to minimize their potential risks. Therefore, some quantified data will be needed in order to recognize those critical areas which requires urgent conservation. Since conventional procedures are time c...
